Welcome to Community Arts Preschool Pre-K program. This program is designed for older four-year-olds with late summer birthdays and younger five-year-olds with fall birthdays to give them another year of opportunity before they enter kindergarten. They meet four afternoons a week, giving them an opportunity to do more with the consecutive days.

Using the Creative Curriculum, we prepare children for their journey into elementary school and help them become independent and feel they are an important part of our community with lots of exposure to social experiences. Throughout the year teachers help children to negotiate, interact with peers and make good choices.

We provide opportunities in the areas of art, music, science, dramatic play, as well as exposure to pre-math and pre-reading skills.

Learning comes best through a relaxed environment and through children’s exploration of their environment. Puzzles, dramatic play, tactile tables, invention centers, games and manipulative are always available during free exploration times and offer a wide variety of developmental learning skills. We give the children opportunities to choose from a variety of activities planned around a focus of the week, including open-ended art, small motor development, and problem solving.

We expose the children to a variety of experiences through field trips.

We have a secure playground for large motor activities, or on the wettest days, we have access to a large indoor space, which we also use for Music and Movement twice a month.

We encourage family participation, as well as support parents and guardians by hosting parent education classes, opportunities for student hearing, vision, and speech screening at school through an independent service. We provide families with opportunities to get involved in community charities, including the Make-A-Wish foundation annual penny drive and monthly donations to help families in need through the Neighborhood House Organization.

Come and join us at Community Arts Preschool, it is a wonderful place to learn and have fun!
